Due to the storm the following programs previously scheduled for March 15  have been rescheduled for March 22, 2017

Town Talk will continue on Wednesday March 22 at 3:00 at the Wiscasset Public Library.  After the first Town Talk in February it was evident that there is lots more to talk about. This informal gathering of community folks revealed that there is a great interest in the sharing and hearing of our stories and history.
Connie McLeod Dalton brought with her a collection of fabulous pictures and a scrap book that she shared and then donated to the Wiscasset Public Library. Steve Christiansen shared copies he had made of documents from the Library’s Archival Room.
This next Town Talk will include a discussion of Wiscasset’s Fire Society, of which few have a clear understanding of this historic association.
You may have questions, you may answers to questions or you may want to just listen. Town Talk is an opportunity for sharing information… before it is too late to ask those individuals with that particular information. Come see what the Talk is all about.

Rogers to Discuss Her Writing at Wiscasset Library March 22

Local author Morgan Callan Rogers will be at the Wiscasset Public Library Wednesday March 22 at 4:45 pm to discuss her debut novel “Red Ruby Heart in a Cold Blue Sea” –  the story of a spirited young girl growing up in a Maine coastal village. It was the chosen March reading for the library’s book group, who invited the author to attend. The public is also welcome.

The novel was published to critical acclaim in 2012 in the US, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Australia.  In 2015 Rogers published a sequel, “Written on My Heart,” that continues the story of Florine Gilham into marriage and adulthood.

Rogers, who grew up in Bath, is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and of its Stonecoast master of fine arts in creative writing program. In addition to writing fiction, she has had many jobs including librarian, secretary, editor, actress and singer. She now works as a reporter for the Boothbay Register.

So mark your calendar for March 22 to come to this special event to meet the author and join in the discussion.
