Adult ed classes begin Oct. 16

Tue, 10/03/2017 - 7:45am

If you haven't picked up your fall Adult Ed brochure yet, you can find them at Hannaford, Harbor Tech, all four region schools, and the Boothbay Harbor and Southport libraries.

The Learning Center has already begun on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:15 to 8:15 where you can prep to take the HiSET exam to earn a high school equivalency diploma or improve your academic skills.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting a Sailing Skills and Seamanship six session course on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. beginning Monday, Oct. 16. This course is designed for both novice and experienced sailboat operators. Passing an optional exam at the end of the course leads to a certificate to show you have taken a boating safety course, and many insurance companies offer discounts to boat owners who have taken this course. The fee is $75.

Get to Know Your Digital Camera with Leisha MacDougall will help you to understand the functions and features of your camera to take great photos. Camera basics, settings, and exposures are some of the things that will be discussed. Bring your digital camera with fresh batteries and the manual. The class is on Oct. 17 and 19 from 6-8 p.m. The cost is $30.

To register for Adult Ed courses, complete the registration form in the brochure, or print one from our website: boothbayae.org. Include payment and mail to the address on the form.
