Alternative Organizational Structure (AOS) 98 Special Services Director Christopher Baribeau will resign at the end of the school year. Superintendent Robert Kahler announced the resignation, effective June 30, at the AOS 98 school board meeting March 25.

“My hope for AOS 98 is that a March resignation ensures ample time for the school community to secure a collaborative thought partner to resume the special services forward growth that staff have worked hard to achieve during my time in this position,” Baribeau told the Register.

During the meeting, board members said they were sad to see him leave but thanked him and wished him luck in his next endeavor. Kahler told the Register the district plans to begin advertising the job in early April.

Baribeau accepted a job in York, according to Kahler, and Baribeau said he will continue to be a special education administrator.

Kahler said Baribeau has done a good job and highlighted his work helping to standardize the district’s procedures. “I wish him the best. I know it was a hard decision for him, but I certainly support anyone who's looking to move on to different challenges, (a) much larger district,” he said.
