Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library is pleased to announce its April Artists of the Month: the students of Boothbay Region Elementary School, facilitated by art instructor Jessica Nadeau.

Jessica Nadeau has been teaching art for seven years on the coast of Maine, and this is her third year at BRES. She grew up in East Boothbay, and attended Boothbay schools. Following high school, Nadeau went on to study visual art at Bennington College, and completed post-graduate work at Maine College of Art in teaching. She currently resides in East Boothbay with her husband, Jon Miller, and their three-year-old daughter, Pauline.

“Boothbay Region Elementary School artists explore a variety of techniques and tools to create,” Nadeau said. “Students in grades pre-K through eighth grade develop skills in personal expression, creative problem solving, and recognition of the role and importance of art and artists.

“Art at our elementary school gives students the opportunity to make something they can be proud of, and help them express who they are as artists and children.”
