Boothbay Region Art Foundation is excited to announce that Conley’s of Boothbay Harbor will sponsor a new award at the Foundation’s ARTinME 2016 juried fine art show. The $300 gift certificate will be awarded to a member of the Plein Air Painters of Maine, or PAPME, whose work has been chosen by the juror, Liam Sullivan.

Sherman’s Books and Stationery will again sponsor the “Best in Show” award for $500. The First National Bank sponsors Second Prize for $300; the First Federal Savings Bank sponsors Third Prize for $250. The People’s Choice Award will be for $500; last year it was sponsored by Knickerbocker Group (and we are hoping it will be again). Two Honorable Mention prizes are sponsored by the Board of the Art Foundation for $100, and by the Boothbay Harbor Framers for a $100 gift certificate.

All Maine artists - must have a Maine address -  are invited to enter their artwork for the juried exhibit. Work will be selected by Liam Sullivan, Dean at Maine College of Art.  All fine art mediums are eligible with the exception of photography. Subject matter and style are open to one’s own definition of creativity. 

Entries will be accepted on: Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. Results of the jurying will be announced on Thursday, Oct. 13.

The exhibit runs from Oct. 15 through Nov. 13.  An opening reception will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, from 5-7:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
