The Boothbay Region Garden Club is thrilled to announce that renowned local artist, Tony van Hasselt, has donated an original watercolor painting to the Festival of Trees for Silent Auction.

On Thursdays, during the summer months, you often would spot Tony van Hasselt at the Boothbay Commons painting the constantly changing scenes at the Farmer’s Market. This donated watercolor depicts the Goransen farm stand, capturing all of the vibrant color and carefree atmosphere we all have come to cherish at this weekly event.

Tony is an elected member of the prestigious American Watercolor Society, a member of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, and locally represented by The Framers Gallery and Coco Vivo Fine Arts. Tony’s work, “Thursdays at the Market” won acclaim at the plein air event, “A Stroke of Art,” a part of the Harvest Fest activities.

This painting will be offered for Silent Auction at the Festival of Trees on December 4, 5 and 6 at the Boothbay Harbor Opera House. All proceeds benefit the Garden Club’s many civic community projects. Come bid on this beautiful representation of our special town.
