During the month of October, Joy To The Wind Gallery will be donating 10 percent of all original painting sales to the Boothbay Region Land Trust. The artist/owners of Joy To The Wind, Lynne and John M.T. Seitzer,  support the vision of the Land Trust. The trails provide much inspiration for artists and hikers, visitors and locals alike.

Wildcat Creek runs through Zak Preserve, located off Route 27 in Boothbay. The painting titled “Illuminated Landscape,” by John M.T. Seitzer, is a depiction of Wildcat Creek as seen just opposite Zac Preserve, looking west.

Painting knives as well as brushes were used to create this 30 x 40 oil painting. The paint is spread on, scraped off, incised through and reapplied in multiple layers. The surface is built up, scraped down and then enhanced with more layers of paint until the desired design, texture and color harmony is achieved. A sense of back lit light permeates the painting.

Joy To The Wind will be highlighting this painting among others during their final First Friday open house of the season on Oct. 6. Joy To The Wind Gallery is located at 34 Atlantic Avenue-just over the historic footbridge on the east side of the inner harbor.  On site parking is available. Call 633-7025 for more information.
