It takes just two words to define Boothbay Region Art Foundation’s (BRAF) August show: impressive and respected.

The show, which features 125 artists, opens with a reception on Friday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. with live music and refreshments. The reception is open to the public.

Members have submitted their newest and best works for this illustrious exhibit, which continues through Aug. 31.

The foundation maintains a unique collection of artwork offering variety, quality and affordability along with truly entertaining selections of style and subject.

The foundation continues to celebrate its 50th year of continuous operation as a working nonprofit whose success is driven by a membership-powered gallery. The foundation’s location at 1 Townsend Ave. includes two floors of artwork, and an upstairs space used for art classes, open studio group and workshops.

The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m,.
