April 20 update: Edgecomb woman found deceased

Authorities would like to hear from anyone with information on the whereabouts of an Edgecomb woman whose husband reported her missing Saturday, April 18, according to a press release Sunday afternoon from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Lynne Crink, 74, of 30 Quarry Farm Road has been the focus of a weekend search.

Reached Monday morning, April 20, Sheriff Todd Brackett said no searches were planned for the day unless new information came to light. A press release sent later Monday morning confirmed that the search had been suspended.

Crink went missing at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 17, when she left home on foot, the Sunday release states.

“When she didn't return, her husband reported her missing on Saturday at 1:23 p.m.,” the release continues.

The Maine Marine Patrol searched for a second day Sunday by boat, and also by air, Marine Patrol Sergeant Tom Hale said. Marine Patrol crews were in two boats Sunday morning, one boat traveling one shoreline of the Sheepscot River, the other traveling the other side, Hale said. The Marine Patrol’s search ended Sunday afternoon with no plans to return unless or until new information is received, Hale said at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Beginning at around 4 p.m. Saturday, three officers searched by boat for approximately three hours, including during low tide, upstream and downstream of the home, according to Hale. Other parts of the property were also searched, he said.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office detectives met on Saturday with Crink’s husband, Robert Crink, Hale said.

In a telephone interview Sunday, Sheriff’s Detective Terry Michaud said there has been no indication that Lynne Crink is in the water or the area.

“We don’t know where she is,” Michaud said. “We’re just following all the steps.”

On Sunday, a Boston Whaler boat towed a side-scan sonar on the river, Lincoln County Sheriff Todd Brackett said in an interview near the scene. A Maine State Police dive team was called in in case any targets were found to check on, Brackett said.

Sunday’s press release from the sheriff’s office describes Lynne Crink as a white female, 5 feet, 7 inches, 193 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. No information was available on what she was wearing.

The Maine Warden’s Service, Maine Marine Patrol, Maine State Police and Lincoln County Search and Rescue were aiding the sheriff’s office in the search, the release states.

“Anyone having any information as to Mrs. Crink's whereabouts is asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 207-882-7332,” it states.
