Wed, 11/15/2017 - 8:45am

Here we go again, folks. It’s that time! Get your Christmas lists ready for the Early Bird sales in Boothbay Harbor and Boothbay.

The 29th annual Boothbay Area Early Bird sale is Saturday, Nov. 18, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.

The annual Early Bird sale in Boothbay Harbor has become a tradition for locals and people from away, who know a good sale when they see it, and are in need of one more breath of ocean air before the snow starts flying.

So let the spirit of the holidays begin, and come to the Boothbay area for some hot coffee or cocoa, a great breakfast in one of the local restaurants, and some Christmas shopping.

Some stores will be opening at 5:30 a.m., and by 6, the early birds will be out in droves, if the past few years are any indication. And many stores are, as always, are offering even bigger discounts to those brave enough to wear their pajamas in public.

On top of the sales, most stores will be giving away door prizes — some in the form of gift certificates, and to make the town even more welcoming, the Boothbay area's second Festival of Lights will light up the town with thousands of lights, and many shops will remain open through Dec. 31.

Some new businesses, and others that have been closed in the past, that will open for Early Bird this year includeBoothbay Village Market (formerly Clipper Mart), Dirty Bird Pottery and Kaler’s Crab and Lobster.

Other participating businesses will include Seawicks Candle Company, Bonnie’s A Cut Above, Sea Glass Spa, Harborside Tavern, Oasis Day Spa, Boothbay Region Greenhouses, the Cannery, House of Logan, Palabra Shop, Sherman's Book and Stationery, Smiling Cow/The Loft, Slick’s Boutique, Harbor-Tech Solutions, the Village Store, A Silver Lining, Mung Bean, Janson's Clothing, Calypso, Boothbay Harbor Framers, McSeagulls, Log Cabin Shoes, J.
