The Boothbay Region High School varsity boys basketball team improved to 2-1 with a 50-46 win at Monmouth Academy Friday night.

The Seahawks took a 38-27 lead into the fourth quarter and held on as the Mustangs outscored Boothbay 17-12 in the final eight minutes.

Kyle Ames and Hunter Crocker led Boothbay in scoring with 17 and 14 points, respectively.

Monmouth had three players score in double figures, with Gabe Martin scoring 11 and Dylan Lajoie and Connor Davies each tallying 10 points.

Monmouth fell to 1-2 on the season.

The Seahawks will next host Dirigo on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
