Boothbay girls defeat Hall-Dale

Freshman Page Brown scored 19 points and senior Morgan Crocker added 16 as the Boothbay Region Lady Seahawks outlasted the Hall-Dale Bulldogs, 58-45, in Western Maine Class C basketball action at BRHS Friday night. The win improved Boothbay’s record to 4-0.

Boothbay led throughout the game, although Hall-Dale had runs to stay within striking distance. The visitors cut Boothbay’s lead to seven points in the fourth quarter but couldn’t get any closer the rest of the game. Coach Tanner Grover used a spread offense to avoid trapping by Hall-Dale and to force them to foul in the late going. Boothbay was 11 of 13 from the foul line in the fourth quarter.

Kayla Johnson led Hall-Dale (3-2) with 12 points and Dani Sweet added 10.

The Lady Seahawks will next host Mountain Valley on Tuesday, Dec. 23 before the Christmas break.
