Boothbay Harbor election results

Boothbay Harbor voted Tuesday on five separate articles outlining prohibitions of specific retail marijuana functions – stores, social clubs, and cultivation, manufacturing and testing facilities. In addition to the local votes were four items on the state ballot – two citizens initiatives, one bonds issue, and one state constitutional amendment.

The results were: 

Article 2, reading, “To see if the Town will vote to enact an ordinance entitled 'Ordinance Prohibiting Retail Marijuana Stores,’” passed 392-354.

Article 3, reading “To see if the Town will vote to enact an ordinance entitled 'Ordinance Prohibiting Retail Marijuana Social Clubs passed 483-264.

Article 4,  reading “To see if the Town will vote to enact an ordinance entitled 'Ordinance Prohibiting Retail Marijuana Cultivation Facilities'” passed 401-348.

Article 5, reading  “To see if the Town will vote to enact an ordinance entitled 'Ordinance Prohibiting Retail Marijuana Products Manufacturing Facilities'” passed 411-342.

Article 6, reading “To see if the Town will vote to enact an ordinance entitled 'Ordinance Prohibiting Retail Marijuana Testing Facilities'” passed 401-345.

The state questions’ results from Boothbay Harbor:

Question 1 on table games and/or slot machines in York County failed locally 127-622.

Question 2 on expanding Medicaid to provide healthcare for people under 65 at or below 138 percent of the federal poverty level passed locally 469-277.

Question 3 on a $105  million bond for road construction passed locally 591-153.

Question 4 on amending the Maine Constitution to raise the time to pay off unfunded liabilities from experience loss in the Maine Public Employees Retirement System from 10 to 20 years passed locally 474-243
