Boothbay Harbor nominations open Jan. 24

Calling all civically minded residents. Are you passionate about local issues and representing your community? Do you know someone who is? Boothbay Harbor recently announced six openings for officers on a range of committees. Nomination papers will be available Jan 24. 

One three-year term is open due to expiring terms for members on the following boards:  

  • Board of Selectmen and Overseers of the Poor, Kenneth Rayle 
  • Community School District School Committee, Stephanie Hawke 
  • Community School District Board of Trustees, Steven Lorrain 
  • Boothbay Region Water District Board of Trustees, Nell Tharpe 
  • Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Cemetery District Trustee, Isabelle Lewis 
  • Boothbay Harbor Sewer District Board of Trustees, James Stormont 

 

Nomination papers will be available from the town clerk and must be submitted by March 4. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 and registered to vote in Boothbay Harbor. Voting for the officers will be held at the Boothbay Harbor Fire Station May 3 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

Town meeting is at 9 a.m. May 4 at the fire station, where the officers will be sworn in.
