Boothbay scores five touchdowns in 35-20 victory over Camden Hills

On Sept. 9, the Camden Hills defense couldn’t stop Boothbay’s rushing attack as the Seahawks amassed 286 yards in their 35-20 Class E football victory in Rockport. Boothbay was paced by sophomore wingback Hunter Crocker who carried the ball 15 times for 180 yards and three touchdowns.

The Seahawks scored early on a 13-yard run by wingback Alex Hibbard. But when the first quarter ended, Boothbay trailed Camden Hills 14-6. Boothbay regained the lead with two second quarter rushing touchdowns by Crocker. The wingback’s first score was a 65-yard run. The second was an eight-yard run, which gave Boothbay a 21-14 lead. The Seahawks extended their lead to 35-14 in the third quarter. Wingback Michael Hallowell ran 24 yards for a touchdown. Crocker scored his third TD on a 17-yard run.

With Boothbay leading 35-14 in the fourth quarter, a Seahawk fumble resulted in Camden Hills’ defensive score.

The Boothbay defense also had a strong performance limiting Camden Hills to 104 total yards. Boothbay’s leading tacklers were Mike Hollowell with four solo and five assisted tackles, George Swope with four solo and three assisted tackles, and Jacob Wilson with four solo and three assisted tackles.

In scoring five rushing touchdowns, the Seahawk offense amassed 415 total yards. Quarterback Jay Hasch completed 10 of 13 passes for 129 yards with one interception. Wing back Cam Crocker was the leading receiver with six catches for 65 yards.

Boothbay improves to 2-0 and Camden Hills is winless at 0-2.

The Seahawks travel to Kittery on Sept. 16 for a game against Traip Academy (0-2) who forfeited its game last week due to a lack of players.
