Boothbay scored through the air, on the ground and by kickoff return in scoring seven touchdowns Sept. 30 in its 49-21 victory over Telstar in Bethel.

Three Seahawks each contributed to scoring three touchdowns. Quarterback Jay Hasch threw three touchdown passes. Wingback Hunter Crocker caught three touchdown passes. And wingback Mike Hallowell rushed for a score, caught a touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 70 yards for another.

Boothbay remains undefeated and its 5-0 record places it atop the Class E Heal point standings. Telstar is 0-5.

Hasch’s first touchdown pass came in the first quarter connecting with Crocker. Boothbay’s initial lead was short-lived as Telstar scored on a 58-yard pass play and took a 7-6 lead. Hasch’s second touchdown pass was on a 28-yard connection to Hallowell.  But Boothbay missed another point after an attempt leaving its lead at 12-7.

Telstar may be winless on the season, but in the first half, it proved to be a worthy opponent for Boothbay. The Rebels regained the lead on a three-yard rush and a two-point conversion, 15-12. But that was Telstar’s last lead, because the third quarter belonged to the Seahawks. Hasch threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Crocker. Hallowell ran 44 yards for another score. The score was 42-15 after wingback Cameron Crocker threw a 55-yard pass to his sibling, Hunter Crocker, for 55 yards.

In the fourth quarter, Telstar trimmed the lead to 42-21 on a 46-yard pass play, but on the ensuing kickoff, Hallowell ran 70 yards for the final score of the game.

Boothbay’s next game is at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 versus Sacopee Valley in Hiram. Last season, the Hawks dealt Boothbay its only loss as both squads played in a non-Maine Principals Association league.
