BRHS graduation preparation begins

After an unusually early ceremony last year, Boothbay Region High School will hold its graduation on Friday, June 10 at 2 p.m.

The Alumni Dinner will be held Sunday, June 5 at Boothbay Region Elementary School. Tickets are currently on sale (until June 2) in the BRHS office and through the alumni association. The guest speaker will be Clive Farrin. No tickets will be sold at the door. The last class day for seniors will be Wednesday, June 1 with graduation and grand march practice beginning the next day.

The annual senior class visit to the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club will be held Thursday, June 2 at 6:15 p.m.

The Baccalaureate program, sponsored by local clergy, will be held Sunday, June 5 at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor.

The Masonic cookout for the class in East Boothbay will be held Tuesday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, June 8 is another busy day. After a morning marching practice from 8 to 9:30, students and parents are invited to blow up balloons to decorate the gym.

The Annual Awards and Honors Exercise will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m. in Porter Memorial Gymnasium, BRHS. Also on June 9, the teachers will hand out their awards to BRHS students.

On Friday, June 10, Class Day festivities will be held at in the gym from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Graduation is at 2 p.m. And the Grand March and Alumni Ball begins at 8 p.m.

The Grand March and Alumni Ball is sponsored by the Alumni Association. Parents or representatives in the “Parade of Parents” are guests of the Alumni Association, and will be admitted free of charge. At 7:45 p.m., parents will line up in preparation for the “Parade of Parents” into the gymnasium. Admission for the Graduation Ball is $5 per person, cash only. Tickets are not sold in advance, nor reserved seating available. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The BRHS class of 2016 will depart for its class trip at 10 p.m.
