BRHS Honors students feted at conference banquet

    The Honors students from the Boothbay Region High School class of 2018 were among the 500-plus attendees at the Mountain Valley Conference Scholars Banquet at Spruce Mountain High School in Jay Thursday evening, May 3. The event is hosted by the MVC Principals Association.

    Accompanied by BRHS Principal Dan Welch, Assistant Principal Allan Crocker and parents, the 15 BRHS Honors students attending included Kyle Ames, Page Brown, Annie Bryer, Evy Case, Summer Chamberlin, Isabelle Curtis, Connor Demmons, Max Hoecker, Madeleine McLellan, Sydney Meader, Kylie Michael, JoAnna Shaw, Lillian Sherburne, Nicholas Sherburne and Lovely Uberita.

    Students from the 13 other MVC schools were honored. The other schools include Carrabec, Dirigo, Hall-Dale, Lisbon, Madison, Mt. Abram, Mountain Valley, Monmouth, Oak Hill, Spruce Mountain, Telstar, Winthrop and Wiscasset.

    Guest speaker was Maine Principals Association assistant executive director Michael Burnham.

    Certificates and scholarship awards were presented to various students following Burnham’s speech.
