BRRDD is the best

Dear Editor:

I joined the Navy in 1969 and traveled up and down the East coast during my 22-year career, and lived in Connecticut, South Carolina, Virginia, and Florida. Since retiring from the military, I worked for several contractors to the Department of Energy, and lived in Colorado, Ohio, Washington State, and Tennessee.

Needless to say, I have seen a lot of dumps, recycling centers, and transfer stations. I have never seen anything that compares to the Boothbay Region Refuse Disposal District. It is the most organized, cleanest, and well-run operation of its kind I have ever seen.

I can’t help but think back to the seagull infested open pit we called the “The Dump” I used to visit with my Dad during the many summers I spent in Boothbay Harbor. Please pass on my compliments to the fine men and women that make the Boothbay Region Refuse Disposal District a shining star in the waste management universe.
