At BSSC …No child left sitting on the dock

Tue, 07/25/2017 - 12:45pm

On Monday, July 31, from 7 to 10 p.m., the Adam Ezra Group (AEG), who believes their mission is making music that is “capable of nothing less than changing the world,” will take the stage at 29 Summer Haven Place in East Boothbay to support a program that believes that “everyone deserves a chance to experience and enjoy the water regardless of financial means.”

In its fifth year of operation, the Boothbay Sea and Science Center at the Ocean Point Marina offers a uniquely integrated sea and science program for youth ages 5 to 17 that opens horizons on marine related vocations and opportunities. The outcome is a multifaceted program that embraces and promotes education in a challenging and fun environment … inspiring individuals to “strengthen themselves and their community through the enjoyment of the sea.”

There will be a “not so silent” silent auction featuring: behind the scenes tour of Maine made Kate’s Butter; painting by local artist Brad Betts; jewelry by A.G.A. Correa & Son; a unique piece of pottery from Damariscotta Pottery and a “throwing demonstration” … to name a few.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Boothbay Sea and Science Center. BSSC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for youth in grades K-12. This summer, BSSC will award more than $12,000.00 in financial assistance.

BSSC is committed to community. For more information about BSSC and to purchase tickets, please go to: www.boothbayseaandsciencecenter.org ; email or call Pauline Dion at: info@boothbayseaandsciencecenter.org ; 207-350-5357.
