The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours for the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Linekin Bay Resort, 92 Wall Point Road, Boothbay Harbor.

The Boothbay Region Community Resource Council’s mission is to assist persons in need on the Boothbay peninsula by providing information, referrals, resources and programs, over the 13 years of its existence the BRCRC has seen an expanding role in providing that assistance. Programs of the BRCRC include: the Community Navigator, with two Navigators who serve as a single point of contact for discussing options for those who may not know which way to turn; Set for Success which aims to provide ALL K-8 students in AOS 98 with every teacher required school supply at no cost to them; Food For Thought, delivering nutritionally dense food to children to help them maintain a healthier environment over the weekends; the Community Fuel Fund helping families stay warm in the winter; the Free Clothing Closet, with free clothing for all seasons for men, women and children; the Woodchucks, providing seasoned firewood to those in need who heat with wood; and our newest program, Addition Outreach, a program to provide information, support and referrals to individuals and families seeking treatment and recovery from addiction. The generous support provided by the whole community allows the BRCRC to continue to strengthen its efforts to serve those on the peninsula.

The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours are open to members and non-members, and everyone from the business community is encouraged to participate. Please register to attend by calling the Chamber offices at (207) 633-2353.
