Calling all singers

Wed, 06/14/2017 - 8:15am

The Lincoln Festival Chorus will soon be tuning up for its 37th season of fine choral music under the very able direction of Professor Anthony Antolini and accompanied by the highly skilled organist and pianist Sean Fleming.

This year’s program will consist of American music from the period of the Revolution to the present time. The highlight of the program will be the very beautiful and moving Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein.

Rehearsals will be held on Monday evenings at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church on Emery Lane in Boothbay Harbor. The first rehearsal will start at 6:15 p.m. this coming Monday, June 19 with registration and a social gathering with light food and punch. Thereafter, rehearsals will start at 7 p.m.

The Lincoln Festival Chorus is always looking for new members, and to that end, the first two rehearsals will be open to anyone who might like to see if singing with the Chorus is to their liking. There are no auditions ... just come and sing.

Performances will be on Friday, Aug. 18 at the Bowdoin Chapel and Sunday, Aug. 20 at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor.
