‘A Celtic Christmas’ on Dec. 7

The Down East Singers, conducted by Anthony Antolini, will present “A Celtic Christmas” at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7. Suggested donation is $20 per person at the door. All proceeds go to further Episcopal ministries at home and beyond.

The repertoire will include seasonal music from Ireland, Scotland, The Isle of Mann and Wales, with some pieces sung in Irish and others in English. The group will have been coached by Prof. Desmond Earley, director of choral activities at University College, Dublin, Ireland. Many of Dr. Earley’s choral arrangements will be featured.

Accompaniment will be provided by the duo Castlebay ( Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee), with pianist Jennifer McIvor and David Myers Jr., tenor soloist.
