Coastal Humane Society to host ‘Black Furiday’ adoption event

Wed, 11/25/2015 - 11:00am

The Coastal Humane Society will host its first ever adoption event the day after Thanksgiving in an event called “Black Furiday” – the shelter’s take on a Black Friday event.

The event will feature some 40 puppies and adult dogs rescued from an overcrowded Georgia shelter where, sadly, overpopulation results in high levels of euthanasia, and plenty of local animals looking for homes for the holidays.

The shelter will open at 7 a.m. for adoptions on Friday, Nov. 27. From 7-9 a.m., all puppies, kittens and dogs will be $75 off. From 9-11 a.m., puppies, kittens and dogs will be $50 off. From 11 a.m.-noon, all puppies, kittens and dogs are $25 off. Adult cats ages 1 and up will be fee-waived all day. Throughout the day, two adoptions will be selected at random to be fee-waived. The event is held at the shelter’s facility at 30 Range Road in Brunswick.

Coastal Humane Society will be festively decorated, and Coastie, the Coastal Humane Society mascot, will be present in his Santa outfit and ready for photos with shelter visitors.
