Community Clean Up Day April 28

No water, no beer!
Tue, 04/10/2018 - 7:00am

Spring is here and it’s time to get out from under all the trash that has accumulated along our roadways.

The Boothbay Craft Brewery and Boothbay Region Water District are sponsoring a Community Clean Up Day on April 28, from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. The morning will focus on getting out and picking up trash; at noon, we will break to enjoy a cookout, Boothbay Craft Brewery’s finest locally brewed hometown beer, 633 pale ale, and good company.

The event will kick off at the Brewery at 301 Adams Pond Road at 9 a.m. Of course, our focus is to clean up in and around our precious watersheds of Adams Pond and Knickerbocker Lake, but we will extend as far and as wide as the number of participants allow. Maps will be provided to pickers to organize the event.

Interested, but don’t want to show up at 9?  Well, then just hit the road! ! Walk your own neighborhood or any other stretch of road and simply clean up there without first checking in at the Brewery. When you’re done, bring your filled trash bags to us and exchange it for food and drink.

We are asking everyone who participates to wear brightly colored clothing, to be especially mindful of cars, and to not remove trash along Route 27 because of high speed traffic.

We hope you will join us in sprucing things up for the season. Let’s take care of the environment and keep our region looking sharp!
