The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has identified those involved in Friday’s fatal car crash on Route 27 in Dresden.  This crash involved a 1995 Toyota Camry driven by Carolyn G. Blouin, 75, of Rockville, Connecticut, and a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Patrick J. Shorey, 24, of Augusta.

Blouin died at the scene. Her husband, Charles J. Blouin, 81, also of Rockville, Connecticut was a passenger in her vehicle.

Investigators have determined all those involved were wearing their seat belts. Investigators are still are working to determine why Shorey’s southbound vehicle entered the northbound travel lane and struck the vehicle being operated by Carolyn Blouin.

Both Shorey and Charles Blouin were transported to Maine General Hospital in Augusta with serious injuries.  No further information on their conditions is available.

Investigators will be working to determine if vehicle defects, speed, alcohol, drugs or possibly distraction were factors. Once the investigation has been completed, it will be forwarded to the Wiscasset District Attorney’s Office for review.  It is expected that no additional information will be released until after the Wiscasset District Attorney’s Office has completed its review.
