Tue, 10/13/2015 - 1:00pm

Thirteen new and returning vendors have reserved tables at St. Patrick’s Christmas Fair and will sell locally made items on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Cheverus Hall. Cheverus Hall is located at St. Patrick Church on Academy Hill Road in Newcastle. There will be something for everyone from soaps and creams to baskets and wood turned crafts to hand knitted items and ornaments. Highlighted below are some of the region’s finest crafters and the items they will be displaying.

Ann Berry will be presenting her crocheted hats, throws, mittens and scares as well as ‘free flying’ wool mittens and personal care items.

Ellen Greenleaf and her daughter have been making homemade goat’s milk soap, facial scrubs and hand and body lotions. These items are necessity for the Maine winter ahead.

Russell Esuibord described his items as "cane and canvas." He creates hard-carved wooden spoons primarily from local woods. These items will last a lifetime for the lucky recipient.

Holly Russell brings her "recycled fun" to the craft fair with dishes, candleholders, and birdbaths. She will also have crochet shawls and scarves for the winter months ahead.

Kathy LaSalle (Baskets by Kathy) is returning this year and will be highlighting her "Gram’s Blanket Basket." Her handiwork is famous throughout the Midcoast region and there is always a crowd around her table.

The holidays always call for special and unique decorating throughout our homes and Margaret from Flowers by Arrangement will be displaying several options for fall and Christmas decorating as well as unique hostess gifts.

Tim and Shirley Raymond are wood turners who will be displaying their unique and lovely wooden bowls. Each one is a work of art.

Doris Schroeder has created a bounty of handcrafted hostess gifts including basket liners. Doris also has a line of sports-themed items from most major teams.

Lonnie Anderson will be representing the Bunker Hill Ladies Aid Group. They will be selling assorted craft items including jewelry, knitted items and Christmas tree ornaments.

Cat Crozier (Pemaquid Beader) is a first-timer for the Craft Fair and she will be bringing her leather weave and gem stone bracelets and earrings.

Gwen Lemont has been developing new varieties of her jams and jellies. This year, in addition to the traditional favorites, she will be bringing hot pepper jam, orange-lemon marmalade, mint jelly, pineapple jam and her signature cherry jam.

Doris Schroeder creates totes, microwave bowl potholders, travel trays and zippered pouches from some of the most unusual fabrics. This year she will be highlighting her "Cool Cats and Hot Dogs" totes.

As always, there is no fee to attend and all adult guests will receive a free raffle ticket for our special Thanksgiving Raffle Basket. Please stop by Cheverus Hall, which is located at St. Patrick Church, 380 Academy Hill Road in Newcastle on Saturday, Nov. 21.
