‘Earth art’ at Maine Coast Artist Gallery

In Friendship Village on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m., Maine Coast Artist Gallery is having its artist reception and opening for the show entitled “Inspired by the Earth.”

This exhibit of trees, rocks, sea and nature features the work of 26 artists and fine craftspeople from Maine and includes paintings by Audrey Bechler, Kat Logan, Jane Herbert, Pam Cabanas, Jean Kigel, Bill Steele, Helen Warner, Gwen Sylvester, Jim Tolles, Zella Walker, Nancy Benner, Angie Blevins and Bill Tomsa; pastels by Anne O'Hara; photography by Jeremy Barnard; sculpture by Pam Joy, Lee Cheever and David Maxcy; pottery by Tim Christensen, Jackie Melissas, Kat Logan, Kimberly Bentley and Nancy Nelson; jewelry by Elaine Able, Glenda Greenberg, Alison Thibeault, and Kat Logan; and a twig hut construction on site by Susan Perrine of Twig Accessories.

The show will be on exhibit for the month of August and the gallery is regularly open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, or by appointment.

Maine Coast Artist Gallery is located at 570 Cushing Road in Friendship.
