Entries sought for the 12th Maine Photography Show

Boothbay Region Art Foundation invites residents and part-time residents to enter up to three images for the chance to be selected for the Maine Photography Show 2017 exhibition. This BRAF sponsored show highlights the best photographers in Maine.

Categories: Color, black & white, and this year’s special theme, “Primary Color Landscape.” The student category for photographers under the age of 18 may choose a mix of themes.

Each of the four categories have four special cash prizes amounting to $1,800 - including the $500 Best in Show Award. The call for entries is open now through midnight, Friday, Jan. 27. 

Marc Muench is the juror for the 12th MPA. Muench is a internationally renowned landscape photographer with eleven book titles to his name, ESPN outdoor shows and numerous magazine, calendar and poster titles to his credit. Marc is a third generation landscape photographer following in the family tradition started by his grandfather Josef Muench and then his father David Muench.

His most recent exhibition was titled "Explorations" at the Wildling Art Museum in Los Olivos, California. Marc has completed photography training videos with Creative live and Craftsy, on landscape photography in 2015.

Marc Muench currently runs photography classes and workshops around the world with his company Muench Workshops. In May of 2016 Marc was designated a Hasselblad Ambassador.

The Maine Photography Show, held at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, 1 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor, opens with a special preview/awards reception on Friday, April 7. The show officially opens on Saturday, April 8.  All selected photos will be exhibited at the BRAF Gallery through Friday, May 12.
