The month of April sees two great family film deals at Harbor Theater! Come to the movies during April for a lot of laughs, adventure, singing, family fun and great freebies!

Lyle, Lyle Crocodile - (PG, 2022, 1 hour, 46 minutes) -  Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m., the Spring Free Family Film will be sponsored by the Towns of Southport, Boothbay, and Boothbay Harbor, this movie is free to everyone and includes one free large popcorn for each family. When the Primm family (Constance Wu, Scoot McNairy, Winslow Fegley) to New York City, their young son Josh struggles to adapt to his new school and new friends. All of that changes when he discovers Lyle - a singing crocodile (Shawn Mendes) who loves baths, caviar and great music - living in the attic of his new home. The two become fast friends, but when Lyle’s existence is threatened by evil neighbor Mr. Grumps (Brett Gelman), the Primms must band together with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti (Javier Bardem), to show the world that family can come from the most unexpected places and there’s nothing wrong with a big singing crocodile with an even bigger personality.

“A warm-hearted family film with great musical numbers that will make another generation of kids hopefully search the attic on the chance that they might find a singing crocodile.” – Nell Minow, RogerEbert.com

The following week, during school vacation, Harbor Theater is running an additional show each day to provide families with a fun movie option.

For “Kung Fu Panda 4” - (PG; 2024, 1 hour, 34 minutes) - the theater is offering two free passes to each family, along with two free small popcorns. This fourth entry in the animated Kung Fu Panda series is filled with strong messages about the importance of growth and change and the need to move past who you are to who you might become, all wrapped up in a lot of action and adventure! After three death-defying adventures defeating world-class villains with his unmatched courage and mad martial arts skills, Po, the Dragon Warrior (Golden Globe nominee Jack Black), is called upon by destiny to... give it a rest already. More specifically, he’s tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. In the process, Po will discover that heroes can be found in the most unexpected places.

“The balance between action and humor is just right, with a very funny bulls in a china shop moment and a precariously balanced tavern. And Po is, as always, an appealing hero, always on the side of helping others but still with more to learn.” – Nell Minow, Movie Mom

“Kung Fu Panda 4” is showing Friday, April 12 at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 14 at 7 p.m.,  Wednesday, April 17 at 10 a.m., and Thursday,  April 18 at 2 p.m. Two free passes and two small-size popcorns are available to families for each show.
