Fifth annual Mutt Scrub in Boothbay Harbor

Local pet outfitter raises money for Lincoln County Animal Shelter with dog-washing festivities
Mon, 07/17/2017 - 7:15am

To raise money for the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, Two Salty Dogs Pet Outfitters is hosting its 5th annual Mutt Scrub on Saturday, July 29, at 22 McKown St. in Boothbay Harbor. More like a festival than a fundraiser, activities include dog-washing and grooming stations, pet-friendly games, and a silent auction, all taking place in a small park across from the store between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

While the focus of the day is on collecting donations to scrub dirty mutts, the Mutt Scrub is a small festival open to all. There will be plenty of competitions to participate in or simply spectate, like the
incredibly popular and entertaining Doggie Talent Show where everyone can show off their dogs’ adorable quirks and talents. Other activities include music with MC Meow Meow, several rounds of
Doggie Musical Chairs, dog nail trimming, giveaways, and a silent auction with dozens of gifts donated from local shops as well as $1,000s in raffle prizes featuring gift certificates to local restaurants and
service providers. All donations benefit the Lincoln County Animal Shelter.

Don't have a dog but want to participate? Don’t worry! For serious “awwwww” factor, Lincoln County Animal Shelter will showcase adoptable shelter dogs at the Mutt Scrub. With your donation, event
volunteers will suds up these adorable canines. And, if any of those pups interest you, maybe you’ll take one into your home!
