Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) recently installed its May/June Exhibit, representing 101 member/artists and marking 51 years of fulfilling a mission: “to create opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy, learn from, and participate in the visual arts.”

Over the years, the foundation has operated as a continuous 501(c) (3), grown from 28 to 280 members, and still maintains a tradition of awarding annual scholarships to area high school students who are furthering their education in the field of visual arts.

BRAF’s present show contains a wide range of mediums: acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolor, photography, collage, mixed-media, and sculpture. Featured artists include well-known professionals, amateurs, students, and emerging artists of all ages. In fact, the foundation has provided a launching pad for many local artists.

Located at 1 Townsend Ave, the BRAF Gallery is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join BRAF on June 3 for its First Friday Art Tour reception from 5-7 p.m. with refreshments.
