Sponsored by Boothbay Region Art Foundation, the Maine Photography Show (MPS) opens to the public at 11 a.m. on April 9 running through May 6.

The 105 images in the show were selected by juror Kathleen Clemons. Clemons is a Maine photographer and teacher, known for her creative use of natural light and unique compositions.

The show also includes a retrospective in honor of Robert Darby, a charter member of the MPS committee who passed away last year.

Viewers of this exhibit will be treated to a wide range of display techniques from the use of aluminum and canvas materials to traditional presentations.

Photographers include students, amateurs, and professionals who choose their best expressions in the categories of Black & White, Color, and this year’s special theme: Photo Impressionism. These ingredients provide an entertaining, lively and thought-provoking show.

The Boothbay Region Art Foundation gallery is at One Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A 2016 exhibition catalog will be available for purchase on April 9.
