Mon, 04/30/2018 - 10:00am

Freeport scored four goals in the game’s first five minutes as the Falcons posted a 15-3 schoolgirl lacrosse victory April 28 over Boothbay. As the first half progressed, things didn’t get much better for Boothbay. The Seahawks trailed 11-1 at halftime.

“We fell behind to a very skilled Freeport team who cut to the goal extremely well and Freeport’s solid defense made it difficult for us to get shots off,” said Boothbay Coach Donna Jordan. “During halftime we were able to refocus and make a few adjustments.”

Boothbay improved its performance in the game’s second 25-minute stanza. Freeport only outscored the Seahawks 4-2. For Boothbay, midfielder Sydney Meader scored twice. Midfielder Chloe Arsenault scored one goal and had one assist. Freeport had 10 different players score.

Freeport is now 2-1 while Boothbay is 1-1. The Seahawks’ next game is 4 p.m. Tuesday in Rockland against Oceanside. Boothbay will host its first home game at 4 p.m. Friday, May 4.
