Harbor Fest featured a Wellness Fair held in conjunction with the half marathon and  5K races on the grounds of Boothbay Region High School on Saturday, Sept. 3.

“It is a very vibrant scene,” Harbor Fest Director Lori Reynolds said.

Exhibits included a CPR demonstration, massage and reflexology treatments, Zumba dancers and various health product booths. Medsport massage therapist Susan Peters took off from her work at Spruce Point Inn to treat runners and visitors to the fair. Peters has a private practice in Newcastle.

Charlie and Jessie Yancey of Pen Y-Pren gave up brewing beer to produce lavender-based oils from their home in Hebron. For the demonstration, they brought their homemade oil still fabricated from beer kegs found in their barn. Blue Tin Farms of Edgecomb came with a baby goat as a petting animal. Christina Eadie promoted battery-driven safety lights that can be worn on the shoes of runners and bikers.

“It is all about supporting our wellness community,” said Reynolds.
