Here’s just a taste of what’s new and enhanced for Harbor Fest 2016

Check out what’s new for this year’s 10-day festival!

A Festival Kick-Off Party on Friday, Sept. 2 from 4-7 p.m. on the Rocktide Inn Sea Deck with 92 Moose DJ Matt and the Dani Tribesman band.

A WCLZ Party on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Mine Oyster with 207 Radio host, Aimsel Ponti and The Crown Vics.

Meet our official Tasting Judges: Chef Ronaldo Linares, known for his appearances on the Food Network Series, “Chopped,” and his #1 selling, newly released cookbook, “Sabores De Cuba.” Yankee Chef Jim Bailey also has a newly published cookbook, Refreshed, and both chefs will be offering book signings throughout the weekend, between their tasting visits.

5k Trail Run & Half Marathon: Both races will start and finish at Sherman Field, alongside the new BE VIBRANT Wellness fair.  The 5k is now a Trail Run that will wind through the stunning landscape of the Boothbay Region Land Trusts’ Penny Lake Preserve. The Half Marathon course will be similar to past years. The course map is available at BoothbayHarborFest.com

BE VIBRANT Wellness Fair Sept. 4, 8 a.m. to noon. The fair will be conveniently located next to the race Start & Finish Line (on Sherman Field in Boothbay Harbor). Attendees will enjoy a group yoga class (10:30 a.m. bring your mat), mini massages, a breakfast bar, samples and demos, book signings, music, and the opportunity to experience the plentiful World of Wellness in the Midcoast region. The Wellness Fair kicks off a full week of wellness events to include: spa specials, retreats, guided hikes, informational workshops and herbal Tea Tastings.

WARE It’s At: Sept. 2-9  Twenty local shops will host events throughout the week to include book signings, trunk shows, wine tastings, designer meet and greets, haunted history tours, A sidewalk sale, and a Made in Maine showcase.

BRCTV Film Fest: Sept. 8, 6-9 p.m.: The first annual BRCTV Film Festival promises to deliver an evening of locally produced, world class talent.  The premiere of “Walking Home” will take guests on a wild adventure, through the lens of BRCTV film producer, Ryan Leighton.  Camden National Bank and Harbor Theatre, 185 Townsend Ave. Tickets are $75 pp and include hors d’oeuvres, beverages and the show. One hundred percent of proceeds benefit Boothbay Region Community Television. Tickets are on sale at BRCTV Studio, Wannawaf or Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce.

Mine Oyster Fest: Sept.9-11: This popular annual event has moved from its former October date to join forces with Harbor Fest. 3- day celebration of Oysters with live music, Oyster Shucking Contests, Prizes and Giveaways!
