Cameron T. Hodgdon, son of Tracy Northrup of Damariscotta and Tyler Hodgdon of Boothbay, received recognition at the University of New England’s Awards Ceremoney on May 2.

Hodgdon received the Outstanding Student Awards in the Department of Marine Sciences, as well as Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges in recognition for merit and accomplishments.

A 2013 graduate of Lincoln Academy in Newcastle, Hodgdon is a double major in marine science and applied mathematics.

Hodgdon graduated summa cum laude on May 20 after successfully defending his three-year honors thesis.

In the fall, Hodgdon will be pursuing a doctorate degree at the University of Maine.
