The twinkling lights, the forest of magical trees and the holiday magic of the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor will serve as the backdrop for one final performance this year.

On Monday, Dec. 22 the Holiday Potluck and Community Carol Sing will fill the main stage and performance hall with the music and spirit of the season.

Pianist Kevin Kiley will accompany vocalists Matthew Ryder, Devin Dukes and Abbey Hutchins while encouraging the audience to sing along at times. The evening will include solo performances in addition to the community carol sing.

This event has become a cherished evening in the holiday season for the vocalists, with Ryder even flying up from Florida to participate in this year’s show.

The music will be preceded by a community potluck with the doors opening at 5:30 pm. Audience members are asked to bring a main dish, side dish, salad or dessert (no breads please) with a serving utensil, and asked arrive between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Following the potluck the music will begin. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for sale.

There is no charge for the evening, other than bringing a dinner course to share with friends and neighbors.

Donations to help underwrite the holiday season at the Opera House are always welcome.
