Volunteer readers kick off National Reading Month festivities
Fri, 03/03/2017 - 8:00am

Hooray! Hooray! It's Dr. Seuss Day!

Now all of the readers and children can play!

Wake all the Sneetches, and foxes, and Sam!

Make breakfast for Horton, from green eggs and ham!

Remember the Lorax and care for the trees.

Say “Hey There!” to Yertle, and Things Y and Z.

The Grinch was a grouch but he belongs in here, too

With Whovillers, Max, and with sweet Cindy Lou.

Do open the door for that Cat in the Hat!

He just wants to help out! Why, what's wrong with that?

Oh the places you'll go from inside a book!

Just open the pages. Just open them! Look!

There's Theodore Geisel. He was born on this day!

Let's thank him for giving us Dr. Seuss Day!

Our volunteer readers came out to the school

To celebrate Seuss, and to read his books, too.

They wore tall striped hats and they read with great zest!

So thank you to all of those wonderful guests!

BRES Dr. Seuss Day readers included Brenda Blackman, Tonia Blake, Jeannie Dotson, Robert Hasch, Georgia Ireland, Eileen King, Kathy Latter, Bruce MacDonald, Leisha MacDougall, Donna Maxim, Christina Stevens, Holly Stover, Pam Utley and Carol Zuluckie.
