Burnt Island Living History Tour

It takes a small village of volunteers

Sat, 06/02/2018 - 7:30am

The cast portraying the family of lighthouse keeper Joseph Muise, in Burnt Island’s Living History Tour, involves more children and adults than you’ll see the day you’re there.

Program Directors Jean McKay and Karen Grindall kindly provided the following full roster of the volunteer cast members (updating my Summertime feature on the tour, which only listed a few cast members).

The junior volunteers are assigned the roles of keeper Muise's children and their cousins. They dress in 1950s attire and rehearse on the island beginning in late May, for the Living Lighthouse tours during July and August.

The junior volunteers are Teal Beavis, Azalea  Bennett, Journey Bennett, Emmy Bouchard, Madeline Bouchard, Gabby Crowell, Maeve Cullina, Ronan Cullina, Nick Giles, Della Hahn, Hannah Hills, Cassidy Leeman, Emery Lorrain, Sophia Mansfield and Beatrix Recoing-Tallen.

Adult volunteers play the part of Keeper Joseph Muise and his wife Annie. These dedicated individuals rehearse their scripts along with the children and are an important part of the program. These volunteers are Jack Bauman, Ken Fitch, Dave Racicot, Howard Wright, Carol Hillman, Penny Pollard and Peggy Racicot.

Take a bow, one and all!

Tours, on Mondays and Thursdays, are in July and August. For more information, visit www.keepersofburntislandlight.com.
