Alternative Organizational Structure (AOS) 98 Superintendent Eileen King is resigning effective Dec. 31. King has accepted the position of executive director of the Maine State Superintendents Association.

King began working at AOS 98 as principal of Boothbay Region Elementary School in 1994. She said in a letter to board members, she has been blessed, honored and lucky to have been able to work with the people at AOS 98 for the past 23 years.

“I look forward to supporting your new Superintendent and helping with the transition in any way possible,” King wrote. “I will take your passion, dedication and wisdom with me into my new position and will keep you foremost in my heart and mind.”

Within the next few weeks, the AOS 98 board will meet to discuss a transition plan for the superintendent position, King said.
