Konstantina Rigas receives scholarship
Konstantina Rigas of Boothbay Harbor was awarded a scholarship by The Maine Innkeepers Education Foundation, affiliated with the Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA) at the tenth annual Tees & Textbooks event held June 9 and 10 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, announced Greg Dugal, president and CEO at MEIA.
Rigas received the Charles Samelson Award ($1,500 award) sponsored by Dirigo Stitching and Harry Samelson.
Rigas is currently enrolled at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Konstantina is a tourism and hospitality major at USM. She grew up in a hospitality oriented business as her father is the proprietor of the Boothbay Harbor House of Pizza. Konstantina has been gaining hotel experience at the Newagen Seaside Inn in Southport.
