LCHA lecture by Orman Hines

The third presentation of Lincoln County Historical Association’s 2017 Winter Lecture Series will take place Sunday, Feb. 26. Orman Hines will present "Virginia, Maine’s First Ship & The Popham Colony."

Orman grew up in Brunswick and summered at Sebasco. He graduated from Brunswick High School and attended the University of Maine at Orono. He was a chef and purchasing manager for the dining service at Bowdoin College for 25 years and retired in 2001. He is currently president of Maine’s First Ship and treasurer of Maine Archaeological Society. For several years he worked on the Popham Dig and other sites as an avocational archaeologist.

LCHA’s winter lectures are held on Sundays at 1 p.m. in the Communications Building behind the Lincoln County Court House in Wiscasset. Coffee and pastries will be served. A donation of $5 is appreciated. 

The Lincoln County Historical Association is a non-profit organization that provides stewardship for the 1754 Chapman-Hall House in Damariscotta, the 1761 Pownalborough Court House in Dresden, and the 1811 Old Jail and Museum in Wiscasset.
