Leo and Mary Lou Caron celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Leo and Mary Lou Caron of East Boothbay and Augusta celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 6 with their actual wedding date being Aug. 3. The party was held at the Spruce Point Inn in Boothbay Harbor and was arranged by their four children, Tamra Lee Gagne, Lindy Lou Caron, Sherry Ann Davis and Luanne Caron Webb.

Leo Caron and Mary Lou Baillargeon were married 60 years ago at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Augusta and since then have owned and operated Caron’s Collision Repair Center while at the same time, raising four girls. Their hard work, love and devotion to their family has become a foundation for their growing dynasty. They’ve been blessed with nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sisters, a brother and several nieces and nephews of who most gathered to celebrate this special milestone.

Their four girls comment: “Mom and Dad, the home you’ve made and your loving commitment to each other have blessed our family in more ways than we can count.” Their grandchildren comment: “So blessed to have grandparents like you. Thanks for showing us, year after year, what a marriage centered on faith looks like. We all love you so much and wish for your future to be filled with good health, travel, love and companionship!"

In attendance were Tamra Lee and Dennis Gagne, Heather, Zachary and Kyle Macklin and Gavyn Donovan from Maine. Lindy Lou Caron, Mandy and Lee Macklin from California and Washington. Sherry Ann and Charlie, Ciara and Austin Davis from Maine. Luanne and John, Alexandra and Cameron Webb from Georgia. Jackie, Stephen, Monique, Therese Drapeau and Rick Caron from Maine. Family friends Matt Fortin, Brandon Donovan, Cindy Farrin and Holly Turley also from Maine.

Leo and Mary Lou reside in Nokomis, Florida during the winter months and East Boothbay/Augusta during the summer months.
