Lisa Beth Hammer to lead second 'Inn Conversation' June 3

Sun, 05/28/2017 - 8:30am

Lisa Beth Hammer will lead a conversation, “On the Value of Vulnerability: Enhancing Authenticity,” as the second of a series of Inn Conversations at Inn Along the Way at Chapman Farm, 741 Main Street, on Saturday, June 3 from 10 am to noon.

Open to all at no charge, the discussion will take place in the farmhouse. Says Hammer, “Our second Inn Conversation will continue the theme of Vulnerability as it contributes to living an authentic life; what naturally occurring human experiences—from sorrow to happiness, suffering to joy—offer the opportunity of enhancing our authenticity? And why is living authentically important for the development of psychological and spiritual well being?”

Hammer is the Miles & St. Andrews Home Health & Hospice Medical social worker. She specializes in grief and loss and has extensive experience facilitating bereavement support groups in Brunswick, Augusta and Damariscotta.

Inn Along the Way is a nonprofit organization in the process of creating a collaborative community offering older adults, and those seeking temporary relief from the responsibilities of caregiving, an environment of support, purpose, and sustainability in a multigenerational and mutually interdependent setting. The organization is currently raising funds to complete its first phase, which will transform the original farmhouse into a small inn with a café and community rooms, offering overnight accommodations to the general public, as well as those seeking respite.
