Local artists featured in Watershed Studio open house

Wed, 09/23/2015 - 1:30pm

Several talented ceramic artists from the Midcoast region will be featured in a pottery open house and sale on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. The Watershed sale is part of Maine Craft Weekend, a state-wide tour of craft studios and breweries, and will showcase work by Liz Proffetty, Kim Bentley, Lisa Evans, Jemma Gascoine, Shawn O’Connor and more.

The sale provides a great opportunity to shop for one-of-a-kind cups, bowls, plates and beer steins, along with sculptural and decorative pieces.

Visitors are welcome to enjoy a cup of cider and snacks cooked in the center’s outdoor wood-fired oven and participate in the “hands on clay” area. Watershed will also lead tours of the campus and art studios, where guests can meet the Watershed fall resident artists and learn about their work.

Watershed will be open on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located at 19 Brick Hill Road (off the Cochran Road) in Newcastle.
