Ellen Hutcheson (Boothbay), Barbara Klein (Bristol), Sally Loughridge (South Bristol), and Bob Vaughan (Bristol) are exhibiting over 90 original paintings in oil, soft pastel, and watercolor at the Damariscotta River Grill through September 14.

The artwork in "Painting Maine V" is inspired by the distinctive land and seascapes of Midcoast Maine. Each artist brings a unique perspective and style. Hutcheson creates joyful watercolors filled with bright color and animated gesture. Klein offers compelling small oils of beautiful light in the landscape and country architecture of Maine. Loughridge's work, in soft pastel or oil, highlights the natural beauty, drama and light conditions of the coastal region. Vaughan presents soft watercolors of often recognizable Maine scenes such as lighthouses, islands and towns. As paintings are sold, they are replaced with new work.

Damariscotta River Grill is located at 155 Main Street in Damariscotta.
