Maine Friends of Music: ‘Baroque and Beyond’

    The Maine Friends of Music summer “Baroque and Beyond” season will include four concerts in Damariscotta, South Bristol, Thomaston and Lewiston. Their program spans four centuries, including music by Boismortier, Scarlatti, Poulenc, Hoover, Mozart, Larsen, and PDQ Bach.

    This Midcoast favorite group will perform: Tuesday, July 25 at The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Lewiston, at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, July 26 at Montpelier, The Henry Knox Museum, Thomaston, at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, July 27 at Schooner Cove, Damariscotta at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, July 30 at The Union Church, South Bristol, at 3 p.m. 

    The Lewiston, Damariscotta, and South Bristol concerts are free; donations accepted at Lewiston and South Bristol. General admission at Montpelier is $12.

    Members of the ensemble are Mary Sullivan, soprano; Linda Brunner, flute; David DeBolt, bassoon; Sean Fleming, harpsichord and piano, and this summer's special guest, Claire Pradel, professor of harpsichord and piano, Conservatoire Jean Philippe Rameau, Paris.
