An artist reception of the Maine Coast Artist Gallery’s “Maritime Show” will be held Saturday, July 12 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Friendship is the home of the design and building of the famous Friendship Sloop, and continues to be a working waterfront with a large, lobster fishing, community. Kat Logan, curator of the show and owner of the gallery, wanted to honor the community with this show.

The exhibition features boats, mariners and all that they touch, with fine art paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolor, sculpture, half-hulls, drawings, as well as fine craft items.

Artists showing include: Barry Tepper, Kat Logan, Pam Cabanas, Jim Toilles, Bill Steele, Helen Warner, Elaine Niemi, Jane Herbert, Ann O'Hara, Gwen Sylvester, Holly Vose, Crystal Lee, Obidiah Buell, Kerry Rodriguez, Phillipe Guillerm, Jean Kigel, Willy Reddick, and Tim Christensen and others.

The evening will offer an opportunity to meet with the artists, enjoy conversations and enjoy complimentary refreshments and beverages.

On Saturday, July 26 at 7 p.m., Maine Coast Artist Gallery will host a special concert featuring Nick Apollonio and Bob Stuart called “Songs of the Sea,” in honor of this exhibit. Reservations are suggested as space is limited.

The gallery is located at 10 Harbor Road in Friendship.
