Mimi Straw makes her Boothbay debut

Thu, 10/06/2016 - 8:15am

The Boothbay Region Garden Club's own Mimi Straw makes her fall season debut in the Children's Garden at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (CMBG). Pictured here, from left, are Abbie Shaw, Mimi Straw, Alice Schambra and newest club member, Gail Morrison. Mimi was created by the above team at the request of CMBG as part of a project involving community groups and local organizations to bring seasonal interest to the Children's Garden. CMBG provided a frame to which was added a lovely fall hat atop a pumpkin head, some well worn jeans, boots from Garden Club President Mimi O'Neal and a club sweatshirt donated by Alice Schambra. Stop by and visit Mimi and her fellow scarecrows at the Gardens during this beautiful fall season.

The Boothbay Region Garden Club often partners with other local groups on projects that directly benefit the surrounding community. The BRGC is affiliated with NGC (National Garden Clubs Inc.) and is a member of the GCFM (Garden Club Federation of Maine).
